Unhyeongung Royal Residence was the home of young Gojong, who later became Emperor during the Joseon Dynasty. It was formerly the residence of the Heungseon Daewongun a prince regent of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty in the 19th century, and father of Emperor Gojong. This historical site once damaged during the Japanese colonial period and the Korean War.
